Mother's Day Tea Party 2007

This was a very sweet Tea Party. The sweetest next to the Mother's Day Tea Party at Montview. There wasn't a dry eye in the house. Once again Ms. Dire created a special day for the students and Mamas of her class. Please click the photo of Seanra holding the other side of the portrait she did of me (you know the one with the pipe cleaners for my hair). She wrote the best poem for me. I'm choked up just thinking about this day!

Seanra turns 6!

We celebrated at school and at home! Ms. Dire, Seanra's wonderful, awesome kindergarten teacher helped Seanra walk with the earth 6 times around the months and sun. Then she sprinkled glitter on everyone for good luck. It was really sweet. Uncle Anth was in for the festivities. A fun time was had by all!

The Elephants!

The girls loved these cute elephants outside of Uncle Anth's house. When we visited 6 months later and they weren't there, Zava was realllllllly sad about them being gone.

Chicago June 2007

Words would just get in the way of this this true Chicago art form.

Our entry and formal living room

Here is a preview of photos to come. I love the windows! That is our front door and entry closet. You can see our front porch and the arches out the windows. I love the light our home gets- it stays lit for a long time, without direct sunlight to make it hot in here. I love our new home, it is so beautiful.

T Ball

T ball was good while it lasted. The move made it impossible to see the season through, but we enjoyed the few practices and games. Seanra is ready for coach pitch, but it filled up fast. She was able to learn that there is more to the game than hitting home runs. She learned about running bases and positions. It was awesome to watch these little ones play T ball, like a train wreck- hilarious. Good times.

There are bunnies everywhere around here! This little one was outside of the pool fence. He was one of the smallest we have seen. He had a cute little white tail and was munching on some dried grass. We also had a frog hopping around out front. We tried to catch him and get an up close look, but he was quick! We are loving the wildlife around here. Just outside of our community are farms with cows, horses, goats- the girls LOVE it!

Halloween 2007 good vs. evil

Zava finds an ink pen & a ladybug...

I think the title of the post says it all. We did lose the ladybug, I washed her face and then Z found her again.

Shani turns 7!!!

Picture this...Uncle Anthony, an Avs game, a sprite and cotton candy...what more could Shani want?!? She had a super fun 7th birthday. We enjoyed a special visit from my bro, Uncle Anthony.

Christmas - 2007

Here are some photos from Christmas 2007, we thought you'd enjoy them (even if eh..em...a bit late).

Swim lessons!

Seanra is really enjoying swim lessons again. She has advanced a few times this summer. It is fun to watch her learn new skills and challenge herself to advance to the next level. Right now she is in level 7 and to advance to 8 she has to swim 3 lengths of the pool with good kicking. She can do the 3 lengths, but her kicking needs some improvement. She has a private lesson tomorrow to work on that. It was a huge accomplishment to move from 6-7. She had to swim the length of the pool without touching the bottom, not stop, freestyle. It was a really exciting day when she did it! I think this week she'll advance to 8. She is so proud and is also learning butterfly stroke! We have 2 pools in our new community. Our water park pool is where she takes lessons (see photo). It is just a few minutes from our house. It has water features, a water slide and zero entry- like the beach. It is awesome for all ages. We love our new 'hood!

Our first blog!

We are in our new home! I can't believe it has been 4 weeks already!

The weeks leading up to putting our house on the market and the 4 weeks it was on the market, looking for a new home, packing, moving, unpacking...phew...it was busy and kinda stressful.

Life on Wisteria Dr. is wonderful.

One of the sweetest sounds of our community is a knocking at the door. Answering the door to "Can Seanra and Zava play?", is so sweet. It made my eyes all teary. Life is different out here compared to the city. There are kids in almost every home. This community is for families, so it isn't surprising. It is very exciting for all of us.

As I type, the girls are all playing upstairs with neighbor girls. Having fun and they include Zava which makes my heart melt! Zava smile beams when she plays with them. Usually it is Polly Pockets or stuffed animals or playing mama and baby.

We just had a break from playing for some limeade, in wine glasses of course.
